Largely untouched by the modern world, the mountain kingdom of Bhutan remains an ideal destination for an unmatched travel experience in the green as this offers a great offbeat appeal. Crowned with famous tourist destinations like dzongs (fortresses) and chortens (shrines), Bhutan is a country where Buddhism influences every aspect of Bhutanese life and is evident everywhere. An interesting fact about Bhutan is that this is the world’s first carbon-negative country, which means you will inhale only pure oxygen, which is now rarely available in any other country.
The country preserves its traditions to the level that you can notice school children still wearing the gho and kira (traditional Buddhist male and female clothing). Holidays to Bhutan can be a remarkable experience where our tour guides will take you through rich forests, over high mountains and national parks, making it a once-in-a-lifetime moment for you and your travel partners.
With warm and welcoming people Bhutan provides a rich spiritual heritage, coupled with its stunning landscapes and rare opportunity to reconnect with nature and oneself. With custom holidays in Bhutan, Indian Odyssey brings to you a way to relax, recharge and fine the inner peace. How do we get to the country? Is there a direct flight?
You would either be flying via Delhi, Kathmandu, Calcutta or Bangkok. There are no direct flights possible to Paro. This makes it appealing to consider a multi-country holiday. All of our Bhutan tours can be tailored to suit your preferences.
What kind of accommodation is available for travellers?
A standard tour to Bhutan will include good quality bed and breakfast style accommodation (3 star) and a luxury tour would include top end luxury hotels for stay.
Do I need any vaccinations?
Specialised travel-medicine clinics or your GP are your best source of up-to-date information. They will recommend the requirement for any vaccinations which may be required. Another good source of information is the NHS travel medicine website fitfortravel.nhs.uk. The key for travel vaccinations is to plan early. Most vaccines don’t give immunity until at least two weeks after they’re given and vaccines like diphtheria and tuberculosis require a three-month incubation, so visit your GP well before departure. Ask your GP or travel clinic for an International Certificate of Vaccination (sometimes known as the ‘yellow booklet’), which will list all the vaccinations you’ve received.
Do I need a visa for my Bhutan holiday?
All travellers require a visa to travel to Bhutan which is arranged by us prior to your arrival in Paro. Our tours include any applicable visa arrangement fee.
