Where to stay in Bhutan
In broad terms, accommodation options in Bhutan are either high-end or simple traditional lodges built in ornate wooden style aiming for giving you more authentic valuable insights into the country, more like a homestay.
In the high end option, there are some luxury properties with excellent facilities and service in western and central Bhutan. Aman Resorts have five lodges scattered around Bhutan, each offering luxurious and tranquil settings with traditional elements such as earth walls and wood-burning stoves. COMO group of hotels has two equally luxurious properties perfect for active couples or families who enjoy activities like yoga, hiking, biking, and hot stone spas.
The traditional lodges options are simple yet comfortable. These properties can vary in standard, but our extensive local knowledge ensures we can find the right place for you. Mid-range choices are fewer but where possible we tend to include them.
Bhutan’s policies do not allow for mass tourism. Due to regulations, accommodation options are limited to either high end or traditional style. Nonetheless, the country offers a unique experience.
