Cultural walks and cycling through nearby traditional village
Each of the twelve charming suites or kutiyas (jungle village huts )offer unparalleled levels of comfort, yet constructed using the local techniques and tastes of Madya Pradesh. With shaded seating areas and private courtyards, the Kutiyas offer a romantic retreat after a day in search of the wonderful wildlife Bandhavgarh has to offer. Some of the stunning features of these suites include wooden shutters, hand-finished walls, stone floors, open rafters with roughly-hewn beams, handmade pottery roof tiles and rust and burnt orange local textile furnishings. Rooms offer en-suite bathrooms and hand-blended, all-natural, guest amenities from the Taj Spa. After a day exploring the abundant wildlife in the park, why not indulge in an in-room Ayurvedic massage. Each kutiya features roll-down mats to keep out the early morning sun, as well as overhead fans and air-conditioning. Guests can also make use of yoga amenities in a basket (complete with instructions)
Children are welcome, however, there are no specific facilities for them. Game drives are suited mainly for older children.
Facilities at the camp include a large veranda with generous built-in seats. The lodge has a swimming pool and interactive kitchen.
The camp offers the highest standard of safari viewing by &Beyond trained naturalists in a Tata open 4×4 safari vehicle. In short, the Mahua Kothi has taken the art of wildlife viewing to new levels, whilst maintaining a dedicated approach to conservation and responsible travel. Bicycles, parked in the kutiya courtyards, are an invitation to explore.
