Ahungalla is located on the south west coast of Sri Lanka, approximately 50 miles south of Colombo and 70 miles south of Bandaranaike International airport. Positioned on a flat narrow coastal strip surrounded by farmland and paddy fields. This is an idyllic setting to unwind with long stretches of unspoiled palm fringed beach on the South West Coast beside the Indian Ocean. The largest and most well-known building in the town is the luxury hotel, Heritance Ahungalla, designed by noteable Sri Lankan architect, Geoffrey Bawa.
