Ramartha is a wonderfully remote village in Rajasthan located four hours from Ranthambore. This village was granted as a jaguar (fiefdom) in 1645AD to Thakur Bhoj Pal by his father Maharaja of Karauli. The name, Ramartha honours Lord Rama. It is believed that Lord Rama camped here during his epic journey to Lanka. The village is home to the magnificient hill-top fort palace, the Ramartha Fort, which is now a well-restored boutique hotel.
